With the London 2012 Olympics scheduled for next year, Camden Town is making sure that they will be looking mighty fine. They have planted over 50,000 bulbs in open areas across the borough and have more planting days scheduled during October.

The flowers are a mix of daffodils and hyacinths planted in squares with multi coloured Naricissi planted in open spaces.

The council is trying to get the community involved in the planting and there are open sessions if you want to have a go- dates as follows;

* Tavistock Square on 12 October from 2 to 4 pm;

* Maygrove Peace Gardens and Whitfield Gardens during the half-term holidays;

* Fortune Green open space and Regent Square on 29 October.

Sounds like a great way to put some real colour in the community!
