Provisional results show that students achieved a pass (grades A* to E) in 97% of exams taken, the same as last year. However, the proportion of A* to A grades was 27% in Camden, compared with 24% last year. It's great to see that young people have got better results- t shows the quality of the teaching and also how much extra pressure there is for them to succeed.
The proportion of A* to C grades was also slightly up on last year, with 76% of entries achieving these higher grades compared with 75% last year.
Councillor Larraine Revah, Camden Council Cabinet Member for Children, Schools and Families, Camden Council, said: "I'm so proud of Camden's young people and what they've achieved. This is thanks to their hard work and determination and the support of their teachers, other school staff and parents. It is fantastic that so many young people have really excelled themselves. Competition for university places is fiercer than ever, so I wish them lots of luck in whatever they now choose to do."
