We have enough stress thinking about how the London 2012 Olympics are going to affect Camden that thinking about 2016 seems a bit of a stretch, this is something Primrose Hill residents are going to have to worry about, as plans have leaked that Brazil plan to place create a 30 foot high statue of Christ on the picturesque Primrose Hill.

Corpus statue of Christ
Due to the nature of this project, no formal plans have yet been submitted, but local resident's **** secretly being canvassed for their views. The idea is that the statue would be placed high on the hill and visible from many points in London. The plan is to place it there after London hand the Olympic baton to Rio in the closing of the 2012 Olympics.
Secret leaked emails state;: "Due to the high profile nature of the proposals and the Tourism Board of Brazil's (sic) desire to unveil the structure as a surprise at the end of the closing ceremony, we would ask that all correspondence remains strictly private and confidential at this time. We trust that this is acceptable."
I'm not a huge fan of this idea, as Primrose Hill is a lovely area that needs to be preserved and not stamped with other countries statues. What do you think? [via]
