Be them ten or thirty, brothers are always a tricky one to buy for. They're not quite Dad hard, but you still want to get them something they'll like. Try and steer away from toiletries- that's what their girlfriends and parents are for, and get them something they'll enjoy.

The latest video game from GAME

The present that keeps on giving is a video game. This will keep them busy for hours, and earn you massive brownie points. Opt for something gory and with guns- Mass Effect and Halo are always well received. Just make sure it's the latest one out so they haven't played it already.

A new camera from Argos

Boys do love their toys and Argos stocks a great range of electronic items. You could splash out on a DSLR but if you're more budget make sure you have minimum tech requirements;

12 megapixels, 2.4 inch screen, 3x optical zoom, 10x digital zoom and throw in an SD card for fun- best sister ever!

Reading material from Waterstones

Cater to their taste not your and you can't go wrong. Perhaps they'll love a Limited edition of Private eye or perhaps the latest Terry Practchett (Snuff) is up their street. They'll love you if you splash out on a hardback they'd been eyeing up- after all, what else is Charismas for.

Cool clobber from All Saints

Clothes and brothers are a tricky one- avoid socks and underwear at all costs- but a nice T-shirt or leather satchel will be appreciated- just don't ask them to model it for you then and there.
