A night at Koko feels like a big night out, but in a comfy and laid back setting. Not to say that people don't get dressed up, there is just never any agro, whenever I have been the crowd has been excessively friendly for a London club and even the bar staff are chilled, given the huge crowds they are serving. The dance floor is huge and under that beautiful glitter ball you can’t help but dance the night away. Even when the fatigue catches up with you this venue adds a whole new level, or two, literally. You can take yourself up a floor, or two, and watch the revellers below. It brings a great inclusive atmosphere to such a large venue and gives a great movement of people to the place. The only problem I’d highlight is the little cloakroom which has a sizeable queue at the end of the night. Totally worth it though. This is a great club, and a shining gem in Camden’s glittering crown. I always bring friends from out of town here to show off the area.

It is very easy to be completely overwhelmed by Koko. Its obvious the design of the place comes from some by gone era but that is what makes Koko a likeable place. There is always a sense of nostalgia every time I go back there. For concerts, if its a popular artist/group, you have to be prepared to go early because if this place gets rammed, youre not going to end up having the most desirable view.

Personally Im not too keen on KOKO as a venue because unless you get a decent spot the view isnt very good and the sound there has genuinely been poor. It does however play host to big name artists and for some reason award ceremonies and television shows are set here. Although im sure given the right band the experience will be enjoyable but I find it rather frustrating.
