CircusFest returns to the Roundhouse with five weeks of the best contemporary circus from around the globe. Featuring major world and UK premieres in our Main Space alongside exciting new commissions, talks and films in our Studio Theatre plus a new outdoor pop-up tent, CircusFest is guaranteed to amaze, astound and capture the imagination of all.
Trailblazing Guinean circus troupe Cirque Mandingue open CircusFest 2012 with an infectious mix of high-energy acrobatics and street dance set against a backdrop of live West African drumming and hip hop beats.
Their first show, Foté Foré has catapulted them into the international arena and features an amazing ensemble of performers blending traditional and contemporary circus, dance and music to bring the Guinean streets to the stage in this high octane show.
Cirque Mandingue was formed in 2009 by French artistic director Luc Richard and a collective of 12 Guinean circus artists. It is both a school and a company and funds generated by the international tour will go back to the school in Guinea.
