To conclude The Hepatitis C Trust's hugely successful collaboration with Boy George on its GET TESTED! campaign, the eighties icon will host an auction and evening of music at the HMV-owned Jazz Café in London's Camden Town on Thursday 31st March 2011.
Doors open at 7.00 pm and tickets are priced at £25 in advance for general admission and £50 in advance for admission and dinner - and are available from: http://tinyurl.com/6ap2q96
Artists performing along with George on the night will include hmv Next Big Thing festival participants Josh Weller and Paloma Faith and legendary Frankie Goes To Hollywood front-man, with many more special guests to be announced. Adding to what promises to be a spectacular evening of entertainment will be the magnificent Jodie Harsh, who will be the auctioneer on the night plus DJ Fat Tony will provide the music in between the acts.
Boy George has been photographing celebrities dressed up as their favourite eighties icons for The Hepatitis C Trust's GET TESTED! Campaign with the main aim of drawing attention to the shocking fact that, despite the virus having been identified as long ago as the 1980s, 75% of people who have hepatitis C today remain unaware that they have the condition.
The attending public on the night will be able to bid for their favourite photo signed by not only Boy George but by all the celebrities who have been featured, including Gavin and Stacey's Mathew Horne, actors Sadie Frost and Jimi Mistry, and musicians Eliza Doolittle and Paloma Faith.
Once the music and auctions are over, there will be an aftershow party at the venue from 11.00pm featuring celebrated DJs Ed Simonds (Chemical Brothers), Matt Cantor (Freestylers), Jon Carter and Lisa Morrish. Customers who have purchased a £25 or £50 ticket in advance will have access to the after show for free. People wishing to purchase tickets just for the aftershow will be able to buy them for £10 from http://tinyurl.com/4ckwwuq
